My first class
When I arrived at school, I
felt nervous because it was my first class, and I did not know how it was going
to be. When I started talking, I was nervous, but then I started to feel
comfortable in the class when I saw that the students where really interested
in the class. I felt satisfied with my job. When I asked them about the topic
that was there is/there are how much/how many, they answered correctly, and
they also understood the structure. One of the students told me that I
explained the topic clearly. Another student told me that it was an important
topic because he wanted to know how to ask question with how much/how many and
also what was the difference between there is and there are. When I developed
the activity that was the next one
1-________________ three eggs
in the fridge.
2-________________ too much
sugar in this coffee.
3-________________ bread do we
need?
4-________________ an elevator
in my office.
5-________________salt did you
put in the chicken?
6-________________two bedrooms
in my apartment.
7-________________spoonfuls of
sugar do you want in your coffee?
8-________________a garden in
my house.
9-________________oil should I
put in the salad?
10-_______________enough
lettuce to make a salad.
They finished the activity quickly. Then we checked the sentences, and I
could realize that few students had mistakes. I felt really happy because they
learned. After finishing the class, a student told me if I could help him to
write sentences because he got a bed grade in the test. I began to him that the
structure is S+V+C. I told him that we cannot have two subjects or two verbs
because those were his mistakes. He understood and told me that he was going to
write some sentences, and he also asked me if I could check them. I told him
that I could help him, so I gave him some verbs to write sentences, and I also
lent him my dictionary because he did not have one. My first class was a nice
experience, and I want to continue in this way.
